Título: Pathogen wars through time: studying plant pathogens with modern and historical DNA Abstract In this talk, I will delve into the realm of plant-pathogen coevolution by integrating present-day and historical samples to examine the interactions between crop and wild plants and their fungal and bacterial pathogens. Furthermore, I will explore the role of bacteriophages in shaping interbacterial competition and influencing the outcomes of bacterial infections in metapopulations of historical and modern plant pathogens. To shed light on the multifaceted nature of these interactions, I will contrast the results of plant-pathogen relationships in cultivated crops with those found in natural ecosystems.
